The Valley of Flowers trek is a 37 km, 4-to-6-day trek in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. It leads through a vibrant UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rare alpine flora like the Blue Poppy. The journey starts in Govindghat and uses Ghangaria as the base camp.

Detailed Itinerary Plan

Day 1st -Drive from Rishikesh to Govindghat: A scenic 8-hour journey. Day 2nd-Govindghat to Ghangaria (Base Camp): A 14 km trek or shared cab ride to Poolna, followed by a 10 km trek. Day 3rd- Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers (and back): A 4 km trek uphill into the valley. You must exit and return to Ghangaria by 5:00 PM, as overnight camping in the valley is strictly prohibited. Day 4th- Hemkund Sahib (Optional): A steep 6 km trek to the glacial Hemkund Sahib lake and Gurudwara. Day 5th -Return Trek back to the Poolna roadhead and drive to Rishikesh.
